Ashley and I are best friends; just like Spongebob and Patrick, we both live near each other, and we occasionally both like making fun of others just like in this scene, just for a joke. And we act like them too when around each other!

Social image theory

This clip would make a middle/upper class audience feel better about themselves as they are not like the Gallaghers who live in a council estate and who smoke and drink lots. Showing this to the middle/upper classes will re confirm the typical stereotype that they have been brought up upon.
